Recently, a fat-dissolving injectable known as Lemon Bottle has become extremely popular on social media, but it is important to ensure that the treatment is right for you first before you book your first injection appointment.

If you book an appointment at our London skin clinic, we will go through what Lemon Bottle is, what your treatment would look like, what you should realistically expect from treatment, and determine whether it is the right choice for you.

What Are Lemon Bottle Injections?

Lemon bottle is the name of a fat-dissolving and body sculpting treatment initially developed and popularised in South Korea.

The injections use three main natural ingredients to destroy fat and reduce inflammation:

  • Riboflavin (vitamin B2), which breaks down the walls of fat cells, making it easier for your body to dissolve the fat and get rid of it the same way it gets rid of any other bodily waste.

  • Lecithin, typically found in soybeans or egg yolks, which destroys and transports fat cells that are not important to keeping you healthy and moving.

  • Bromelain, a pineapple-based enzyme primarily used to reduce swelling, is also effective at dissolving fat.

These three ingredients are typically used in small amounts to help break down stubborn fat that has proven difficult, if not impossible, to get rid of through other means.

Who Are Lemon Bottle Injections For?

As Lemon Bottle injections are used for relatively small areas, are non-invasive and require very little recovery outside of taking care of some slight redness or swelling, they have become very popular, but as with any aesthetic treatment, they are not for everyone.

The people who benefit most from Lemon Bottle want to get rid of stubborn fat deposits of the type that are not easy to get rid of through exercise or non-surgical treatments such as liposuction.

Generally, the best people for Lemon Bottle are close to their goal weight, are in good overall health, have good skin elasticity and are mostly looking for a final extra sculpt.

It is ultimately a body contouring treatment, often used to remove fat around smaller areas, such as under the jaw, around the flanks of the abdomen and to treat cellulite.

Generally, you will need at least three treatments before the full effect is seen, although some people notice benefits within a day.

What Should You Expect From Lemon Bottle Treatment?

As with quite a few non-surgical treatments, the process of getting Lemon Bottle injections is very straightforward, and you can often be in and out of the clinic within a lunch break.

The first step is to clean and prepare the treatment area. Numbing cream is available if you are worried about the feeling of the injections, but as the needle itself is very small and the amount being injected is tiny, it feels more like a pinch than a pinprick.

The treatment itself takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the area, with another 20 to 30 required to ensure the numbing cream takes effect.

After that, you will have a gentle massage to ease the swelling and distribute the Lemon Bottle formula, and you can freely go on your way.

Make sure to drink a lot of water after treatment; you will need at least a pint of water after treatment and about two litres per day during the course of the treatment to allow your body to get rid of the fat cells easily.
